Makeup Revolution London Haul with Swatches

I've been hearing a lot about Makeup Revolution London lately and I really wanted to try out the line. Makeup Revolution is an incredibly affordable cosmetics company based in the U.K. You can order from their website internationally, but there is a hefty tax and shipping added to each order.

After watching tons of reviews and hauls I decided to test out the brand especially since I'm pretty much obsessed with all thinks U.K.

The lipstick and gloss are quite creamy and pigmented at only $1.58 each! The price reminds me of Wet n' Wild here in the states, but I have to say the quality is much nicer than Wet n' Wild.

The gloss is a nice formulation, not too sticky. I choose a clear gloss to go over some of my lipsticks I currently own, as well as possibly a glossy eye look.

The lipstick is creamy and smooth, not chalky or clumpy at all. I really like the shade I choose, it's an everyday pink.

After seeing some great reviews of the highlighters I decided on Radiant Light in glow and I'm very happy with this warm highlight powder. The pigmentation is nice and shimmery without being glittery. I love the baked texture of the product and you get quite a lot for $7.89. I'd compare this to a MAC mineralized skin finish.

Now the blush palette was a great deal especially for a newbie starting out their makeup collection or kit. You get 8 blushes for $9.47. I find the blushes to be pigmented and easy to work with. Your not going to get the blotchy application that can be found in a lot of drugstore blushes.

Defiantly use a fluffy blush brush to work the product in and blend blend blend.

Now after much hype over the eyeshadow palettes I choose the Romantic Smoked palette to test out for $6.32. The price is great! I don't think there are many eyeshadow palettes with 12 shades in it for this price.

My concern is that a few of the shades are a bit chalky, but this could be due to using a finger to swatch vs. a brush. The pigmentation was good, not too much, not too little. I like the variety of purples in the palette and I think I can work with it. For a gal on a budget, this is defiantly a great option to add to your makeup collection.

I'd prefer if the shadows weren't so narrow, making it a bit hard to grab at product if using a fluffy blending brush or my fingers, but that's just me.

My next purchase will include some contour palettes, and the much talked about iconic palettes that were sold out when I placed my order. I do appreciate the fact that unlike most U.K. drugstore brands, Makeup Revolution offers international shipping.

All in all if your able to get your hands on these high quality products for minimal cost,  DO! I know when I visit the U.K. I'll be bringing an extra suitcase to hunt down Makeup Revolution as well as some other U.K. only high street brands.

Do you have access to Makeup Revolution? What have you tried from them?

Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar & The Original Chocolate Bar Palettes

I have been a huge fan of the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette since it came out, so when I heard about the semi-sweet chocolate bar Too Faced is releasing, I freaked out a bit, then became skeptical. The debate was serious, but I caved and bought the new palette.

First thing I noticed about the Semi-Sweet Palette, is that it is much thinner than the original. This is great for travel and the makeup hoarder like myself. Slimmer packaging = more makeup storage possibilities. The next packaging improvement is that the shadows are labeled! Thank the Lord! The original had a clear insert with the shadow names on it, which I have lost long ago.

Just look at this beauty! I'm so happy I purchased it, the shades are very neutral, wearable, and a little similar to the original, but they definitely created some new shades of browns and golds that I'm loving. Also like the original, it smells like heaven!

By far my favorite row of colors. Those are so pretty and light I can see myself wearing them all spring with different pops of color.

Take note at the difference in packaging size.

Side by side comparison of colors. I feel like the original had a cooler theme in shades and the semi -sweet is a bit warmer in tones. I like to think of the original as milk chocolate and the new one as dark chocolate.

The original in all it's glory. Notice the lack of names, thicker packaging, and cooler neutral shades compared to the Semi-Sweet Palette.

This bottom row is defiantly my favorite, especially around fall and winter time.

Both palettes are a great deal, smell amazing, have great pigmented, blend ability, and are wearable shadows. I like to recommend the chocolate bar palettes to all makeup lovers because it smells so dang good and so easy to use.

If your deciding on which of the palettes to purchase, I'd suggest figuring out if you prefer warmer tones (get the semi- sweet) or cooler tones (get the original).

If money is tight and you already own the original, don't worry too much, you won't miss anything drastically different, but if your a makeup lover it doesn't hurt to own another wonderfully packaged palette that smells like chocolate. Makeup & chocolate? I think Too Faced gets it.

Will you be buying the new Semi- Sweet Palette? Do you already own the original Chocolate Bar Palette?

Colour Pop Cosmetics Band Wagon

Okay so after avoiding the colour pop craze that has been happening lately on blogs & especially youtube, I finally jumped on the band wagon on Black Friday.

I purchased one of their holiday eye color collections in "not a box of chocolates"

The eyeshadows are crazy! They are the most unique texture and formulation I've ever felt. It' not quite a cream, not a pigment, yet not a traditional shadow either. Shadows are creamy, blend able, and pigmented. Definitely fun and worth the $5 a pop. Crazy affordable.

Tip- make sure the keep the lids on tight as to not dry out the shadows.

I also picked up a few lippies and lip liners in Button & Brink

First off I do like how the lippies and coordinating lip pencil are the same name, so no guessing on which one to get together.

The formula is super rich and pigmented. I love the packaging and again the $5 price point is risk free and wonderful.

Sadly I wasn't a huge fan of Button. The shade made my lips look a bit flat and dead, but this would look beautiful on a paler complexion than mine. Not quite sure why Button's lip pencil is so much darker than the lippie, which added to the odd look on my.

I will be repurchasing a few different shades so I can try them out. I think I'd really like the bolder and brighter shades with these formulations.

Tip- make sure to exfoliate and moisturizer your lips before wearing these.

Have you tried Colour Pop Cosmetics yet? Will you now?

The Palette I've Been Lusting After

Thank my lucky stars! The Marc Jacobs Night Owl Palette was back in stock during the Sephora VIB sale.

This palette has been sitting in my "love it" list for weeks waiting for me to purchase, then it was sold out! My wallet was happy, but I was not. Thankfully it was back in stock right as I did a little damage with my friends and family 20% off discount. Just look how beautiful this palette is.

Marc Jacobs just has a way with packaging. The packaging comes with a high quality fabric sleeve to keep everything nice and shiny.

What drew me to this palette was the warm, rich, vibrant colors perfect for pops of color in the fall in winter months. I also wanted a sleek palette with color options because as you all know I'm an addict for neutral palettes. Just read my last post drooling over 2 of my favorite neutral palettes currently.

Just look at the pigmentation. This picture is after swatting on my arm! The mermaid green is just to die for and the burgundy shade is a great one color lid shade.

What are some of your lust worthy makeup items?

Make sure you check out what else I bought from my HUGE SEPHORA HAUL on my youtube channel.
