#ProjectLipstick

I'm happy to announce I will be participating along side Fresh Mommy Blog in #ProjectLipstick. Briony & Tabitha were kind enough to reach out to me and ask me about my must have lipstick and possible provide a giveaway, so keep an eye out on FreshMommyBlog for my all time favorite lipstick and to possibly win some for yourself! 

What drew me to this campaign is the positivity and empowerment of women from something as simple as lipstick. This small change can bring forth so much positivity and growth from within us all and that is what Dress Yourself Happy is all about!

I know I talk A LOT about makeup, but at the end of the day it's about who you are on the inside and matching that to your outside. Makeup is a form of expression and to help you feel your best most confident self. There is so much power in a new lipstick.

Dessert & Lip Color

I love a great cup of coffee and some fresh beignet. What I love more? When my lip color stays on after my coffee and dessert.

These beauties at only $13 each, are super pigmented, rich, long lasting, leaves a stain, and doesn't dry out your lips! What else could a girl ask for in a cream lip stain?

Shade #3 & #5 shown in picture. I also own shade #1 which is a pure red and just to die for.

Your Lips But Poutier

So I know Kylie Jenner has started a pouty lip revolution and it's all over magazines and youtube tutorials, but...

Here's the deal over lining your lips too much just looks plain ridicules in real life. You can get away with a lot more for pictures and filming. However, walking around work or school with over drawn lips is just a makeup mistake you'll regret in a few months, especially if you over do it for picture day.

I've been blessed with a full bottom lip, but my top lip is not as full, I learned early on to cheat the sides of my top lip and to accentuate the center of my bottom to get the full pouty effect without being scary. When in doubt, less is more. 

Using a slightly darker YLBB lip pencil, line your actual lip line first, then go back over and fill in where you'd like a little more plumpness. The trick is to not over do it and to find the perfect shade of liner. Currently my perfect shade liner is one sent to me from BC cosmetics in Cinnamon. It's just dark enough to be noticed and used for an outline, but not too pigmented or brown to look crazy. 

Some other suggestions for the perfect YLBB liners are:

• Jordana lip liner in Tawny
• It Cosmetics YLBB nude lip liner stain (I wear light/ medium)

For an everyday wearable look I like to use Nars lipstick in barbarella. It's the perfect peachy nude shade that flatters my new lighter hair. A great drugstore dupe is Wet n' Wild lipstick in 903 C

National Lipstick Day

Who doesn't love lipstick? It's seriously a girls best friend. 

One of my actual best friends always puts on a bold lip color and nothing else, that's her goto "put together" look and it's really all she needs to look fabulous!

First Impression of Maybelline’s new Vivid Lipsticks
I’m actually really digging these beauties!
So today I filmed a first impressions video on them and you can see what they all look like on me as soon as that’s up.
But basically the color payoff on these are amazing! They are very vibrant and go on smooth and creamy. I don’t feel like i’m wearing lipstick and the color really stays on. It actually stains your lip a little, so be prepared for that.
As you may know I hate wearing lips products that feel sticky, waxy, or heavy on me. I’m also not a fan of weird tastes and smells, but these do not taste like anything and they definitely don’t have a sent to them.
I am defiantly a fan of these new lipsticks!
